What is the CEBA certification process?

The Certified Human Services Associate (CEBA) program is a structured curriculum for entering human, social and justice services. Steps include:

  • Complete an initial application and pre-certification assessment
  • Participate in the online self-paced certification masterclass
  • Successfully complete course exercises, quizzes, and post-course exam
  • Complete an in-person Post Course Debrief (live, onsite or online)
  • Receive certification eligibility determination following the debrief

Candidates who don’t qualify initially receive “Provisional” status and guidance on next steps.

Can I re-certify at the Associate level?
Re-certification is not permitted for Human Services Associates. Within 2 years of initial certification, candidates must work toward becoming a Certified Evidence-Based Practitioner (CEBP). They may also pursue licensing in a specialty of their choice.
How long does the CEBA certification process take?
The certification process must be completed within 90 days of initiating. New registrants undergoing the process are referred to as “Provisional Associates” during this period.
What does CEBA certification cost?
This comprehensive program bundle includes full expert support and guidance. Your total investment is $295. Some funding streams may require an Industry Recognized Curriculum (IRC) — an extra charge applies for IRC programs.

Where are attendance requirements fulfilled?
Personal attendance requirements may be fulfilled via the online masterclass. Some agencies may choose to bring the program to their location for in-person delivery.
What are the CEBP certification requirements?
To earn the CEBP credential, candidates must complete:
  • 15 CE Training Hours — via On-Demand masterclass, Live EB Pathways conferences, or Private programmes
  • 5 Additional Hours — through required reading on evidence-based content and online eLearning
  • Facilitated Review / Exam — submit responses to review questions for evaluation
  • Certification Eligibility Determination — receive your eligibility decision on completion
How long does the CEBP process take?
The certification process must be completed within 90 days of initiation. Participants typically combine credits from online and onsite events. They may also provide proof of approved EB training received within the previous 12 months. New registrants are referred to as “Provisional” during this period.
What are the CEBP re-certification requirements?
Submit a 2,000-word document or email covering: 10 CE Training Hours on EB content over your 2-year period, plus 5 additional hours through implementing an evidence-based project at your agency and/or required reading and online eLearning. Include discussion of how your certification has benefited your work and organization.
What does CEBP certification cost?

  • Submit Draft Implementation Action Plan — reviewed by the certification commission for feedback and refinement
  • Begin Implementation — execute your plan with guidance from certification faculty

Is CEBL required for CEBO organisational certification?
Yes. Completing the CEBL (or the EBO Leadership Masterclass) is a pre-requisite for organisations pursuing the CEBO organisational certification. If you’re planning on CEBO, we highly recommend starting the CEBL process alongside your EB Pathways training.

What is the difference between a CEBO and a CEBP?
The CEBO is designed for organisations — a self-evaluation and external review programme providing a standard method for organisations to become certified as Evidence-Based Organizations. The CEBP is for individuals — a training and self-study programme followed by an exam for those seeking personal certification in evidence-based practice.
