The U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) Violent Crime Reduction Roadmap is available now on the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) website. This Roadmap was developed to assist local jurisdictions in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to prevent, reduce, and respond to acts of community gun violence. It is organized around Ten Essential Actions to reduce community gun violence identified by the Council on Criminal Justice, and the Roadmap identifies how DOJ resources can be used to support jurisdictions in their work:
- Guiding new anti-violence efforts by following the Ten Essential Actions.
- Assessing existing community gun violence initiatives.
- Finding resources, grant funding, and training and technical assistance to help stop violence and save lives.
